So you’ve signed up for Comcast email. Now what? Well, you’ll probably want to check your inbox every once in a while, right? Here’s the problem: Comcast doesn’t exactly have the most user-friendly website. Not to worry, though – below, we’ll walk you through the sign-in process step-by-step.
Step 1 – Go to the Right Place
First things first: open up your web browser and go to the Comcast Xfinity website. Take a look at the top right of the screen – do you see the Email option? Click on it. Believe it or not, this doesn’t take you straight to your inbox.
Instead, you’ll be redirected to a page with news, weather, and so on. This time, click the envelope icon in the top-right.
Step 2 – Sign In
If you followed the steps above, you’ll now see a login screen. This part is fairly self-explanatory: just enter your Xfinity username, email address, or mobile number, then type your password into the box below. If you’d prefer not to sign in manually every time, check the Stay signed in option, although we advise against doing this on a shared computer.
Remember to enter the security code, too! If you’re having trouble, you can have the letters read out to you by clicking Get an Audio Challenge. Once you’re ready, click Sign in.
Step 3 – Making a New Account
If you’re a Comcast customer but haven’t taken advantage of the email service yet, you can also create a new email address here. Just click the “Don’t have a username? Create one” link at the bottom of the page.
You’ll be asked to verify some of your personal details first. You can choose between receiving a text message or entering your Social Security number, but either way is fine. Once you’ve done this, you’ll be allowed to choose a username and password. Solely enter these onto the login page, and you’re done.
Step 4 – Recovering a Forgotten Username or Password
On the login page, you’ll see two options near the bottom: “Forgot username or password?”. Click on whichever one you’d like to reset. If you chose a username, you’ll be asked to confirm your mobile number or Social Security number, just as if you were creating a new username.
If you chose a password, however, you’ll be asked for your Xfinity username. Type this into the box and you’ll be sent a recovery code to either a separate email address or your cell phone. Simply choose a new password and then you’ll be able to log in as usual.
